Sunday to Thursday 11:00–21:00, Friday and Saturday 11:00–22:00.
What to notice
- Leipzig’s market is a practical stop between Berlin and Dresden. Both of those journeys are ordinary by rail.
- It closes on 23 December, a day before several of its neighbours.
What to eat and drink
Unless a sentence names its source, these are specialities associated with the city, not a confirmed menu for 2026. Stall lists change every season.
- Leipzig is known for Lerchen, a shortcrust pastry, and for Glühwein like every other Saxon city. The city date page does not fix a menu.
Planning notes
- Friday and Saturday run an hour later. If you are only here for an evening, pick one of those.
- Combine it with Dresden only if you enjoy markets on consecutive days. They are close, and they feel related.
Getting there
Leipzig Hauptbahnhof is one of the great shed stations, about 10 minutes on foot from the Markt.
