Frankfurt Christmas Market
Frankfurter Weihnachtsmarkt
23 November – 22 December 2026
Source: visitfrankfurt.travel · read 2 November
A string of markets from the Römerberg to the Hauptwache. Frankfurt Tourism publishes 23 November to 22 December 2026 — it does not run to Christmas Eve.
The season
Monday to Saturday 10:00–21:00, Sunday 11:00–21:00.
What to notice
- visitfrankfurt names the Römerberg, Paulsplatz, Mainkai, Hauptwache, Friedrich-Stoltze-Platz and Roßmarkt as the 2026 sites.
- The same page says the tree arrives on the Römerberg on 3 November 2026 and that the official opening is on 23 November.
- It describes Bethmännchen, hot apple wine and Quetschemännchen as the local things to look for.
What to eat and drink
Unless a sentence names its source, these are specialities associated with the city, not a confirmed menu for 2026. Stall lists change every season.
- Bethmännchen, the marzipan biscuit, and heißer Apfelwein are named by Frankfurt Tourism.
- Quetschemännchen, the prune-and-nut figures, are described there as a traditional gift.
Planning notes
- The market ends on 22 December. A ticket booked for Christmas week will find the Römerberg without it.
- Walk the whole string once in daylight. At night, stay on the Römerberg if you only have an hour.
Getting there
Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof is about 15–20 minutes on foot or a short S-Bahn to Hauptwache. The Römerberg is a further few minutes downhill.
When to go
The last week of November, on a weekday, while the tree is new and the market has not yet reached its last Saturday.
