Brussels Winter Wonders
Plaisirs d'Hiver / Winterpret
27 November 2026 – 3 January 2027
Source: City of Brussels · read 2 November
The city’s winter event across the centre, including a Christmas market. The City of Brussels publishes 27 November 2026 to 3 January 2027.
The season
Daily 12:00–22:00. On 24 and 31 December, closing at 18:00.
What to notice
- The city says the event includes more than 200 chalets, a tree on the Grand-Place, a sound-and-light show, and fairground attractions.
- It is a winter festival with a market inside it, not a timber-stall church square. Go knowing that.
What to eat and drink
Unless a sentence names its source, these are specialities associated with the city, not a confirmed menu for 2026. Stall lists change every season.
- The city page does not name dishes. Belgian waffles, chocolate and glühwein are what the centre sells all winter.
Planning notes
- Noon is the opening, not 10:00. A morning in Brussels is for the galleries, not the chalets.
- 24 and 31 December end at 18:00.
- Walk the Grand-Place and one other square. You do not need all seven sites.
Getting there
Brussels Central station is a few minutes from the Grand-Place. Midi/Zuid is the international station, one stop away.
When to go
A weekday after 27 November, early afternoon, before the offices empty onto the Grand-Place.
